The BUPRaP Roadshow landed in Turku yesterday. Such an interesting get-together, thank you all for participating!
After a short presentation about the Baltic University Programme by Cecilia Lundberg, Centre Director for BUP Finland, Prof. Walter Leal continued by hoping the afternoon would encourage and motivate us all to more collaboration when it comes to projects and publications – and so it did!
Prof. Leal shortly summed the outcomes of Horizon 2020 and then continued by looking forward, giving many helpful tips! It’s impossible to reproduce them all here, but one of the core points: you need relevant networks! The BUP for example gives many opportunities, but there are many more and possibilities to build new.
The Interreg financed Light in the Dark project, where 11 actors boost the Baltic Sea Region’s tourism sector, was a perfect example of collaboration between universities and entrepreneurs – with sustainability as a guiding star. The project is led by Novia University of Applied Sciences and was presented by Project manager James Simpson and Senior Lecturer Maria Engberg.
The last presenter was Assistant Professor Jerker Björkqvist from Åbo Akademi University, who talked about research aiming to revolutionize sustainability management based on developing and implementing data-driven models of the company’s impact on sustainability.
The gathering in Turku (and online) was arranged in cooperation between BUP Finland, Åbo Akademi and Novia UAS.
