Following the IYPE global motto, the motto of the Congress is “Young Earth-Scientists for Society”.
Oral and poster sessions will be focused on the ten main themes of the IYPE:

• Hazards – minimizing risk, maximizing awareness
• Earth & Health – building a safer environment
• Climate - the “stone tape”
• Resources –” towards sustainable use”
• Megacities – going deeper, building safer
• Deep Earth – from crust to core
• Ocean – abyss of time
• Soils – the living skin of the Earth
• Earth & Life – origins of diversity

The roundtables will be based on following 5 themes:
• Scientific challenges for the future geoscience workforce I: Natural Hazards
• Scientific challenges for the future geoscience workforce II: Climate Change science
• Scientific challenges for the future geoscience workforce III: Energy and Natural
Resource Sustainability
• Career Pathways: The opportunities and challenges of early career geoscientists
• Academic Pathways: Addressing the sustainability of geoscience programs in higher
education
