From Co-operation to Recognition: Creating Long-Term Strategies

The Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) and the Coordinating Committee for International Voluntary Service (CCIVS), in cooperation with Indonesia International Work Camp (IIWC), are pleased to announce the 4th Networking Conference for Asian and European Young Volunteers (NAEYV), from 6 - 11 February in Semarang, Indonesia. The organisers are now accepting applications for participation from International Voluntary Service (IVS) organisations. The 4th NAEYV aims to promote the visibility and values of voluntary service as one of the main non-formal education tools in Asia and Europe.

The NAEYV, which will gather up to 40 participants altogether, is composed of two events: (1) a 2-day Strategic meeting (6-8 February) with 20 young representatives from (inter-) national organisations/networks in the field of IVS and (2) the Conference (8-11 February) with 20 representatives from governments and universities and other relevant stakeholders.

Participants will be citizens of ASEM countries, able to understand and discuss complex issues in English. The representatives from IVS organisations should have decision power in their organisation or institute.

The organisers will provide accommodation and meals for the duration of the Conference and partially cover international travel costs.

Interested IVS organisations or networks who would like to be present at both the Strategic IVS Meeting and the Conference are invited to send their completed Participant Application Form to CCIVS through their sending organisation, no later than 7th January 2010.
