Power landscapes – histories and futures

We invite researchers from a range of different disciplines within the social sciences and humanities to share ideas and experiences from research on the NESS 2011 overall theme: Power landscapes - histories and futures.This tenth NESS conference is a collaborative effort between Stockholm University, its Stockholm Resilience Centre and Stockholm Environment Institute.

Around the world, pressures from climate change, globalization and changing use of natural resources increasingly affect both the physical and socio-economic and political landscapes. This conference will explore the influence of historic pathways and new trends on how a diversity of actors respond to those changes and mobilize in order to better govern their own futures.
