Description
EASY-ECO Training on
Sustainability Assessment in a Transboundary Context
We would like to announce that applications for the next training within the EASY-ECO series of events (European Conferences and Trainings Courses on Evaluation of Sustainability) are now open. Deadline for applications has been set to 28 February 2010.
The training focuses on the theory and practice of evaluation of sustainable development, with a special focus on sustainability assessment in a transboundary context.
The online phase of the training, hosted by Research Institute for Managing Sustainability of the Vienna University of Economics and Business, will be held online from mid-March 2010 to ear ly June 2010. The on-site phase of the training, hosted by the Stockholm Environment Institute Tallinn Centre (SEI Tallinn), will be held on 14-18 June, 2010, in Tallinn, Estonia. Both the online and on-site phase will be supported by leading evaluation thinkers and experienced trainers (Frans Leeuw, Thomas Widmer, Clive George, Wolfgang Meyer, Kaja Peterson, Wiecher Schrage and others).
EASY-ECO Trainings explore key elements in evaluation of sustainable development such as roles of evaluation in the policy cycle, approaches to evaluation, stages of evaluation, methods and techniques to conduct evaluation, and evaluation markets. After attending one of the trainings, participants will be able to conduct actual evaluation projects as full-fledged members of an evaluation team. In addition, the trainees will be embedded in a thematic network of leading scientists and practitioners.
The training is intended for young researchers and practitioners active in evaluation research or sustainable development. The cost of the training fee for the online phase is EUR 200 and for the on-site training EUR 250 (excluding travel and subsistence). EU-Grants are available for young researchers (with less than ten years research experience) to cover all costs (travel expenses, training fees, accommodation and living allowance). Details on the content and organization of this training and other upcoming events as well as on the application procedure can be found at http://www.easy-eco.eu, or you can also contact the scientist-in-charge, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
