BUP Students' Conference on Environmental Management Systems

Baltic University ProgrammeWe would like to welcome BUP students with a direction of studies including EMS or an interest for EMS to a BUP Students' Conference on Environmental Management Systems that will take place in Ostrava, Czech Republic, on November 24–28, 2010.

The conference will be arranged by the BUP secretariat at Uppsala University in cooperation with, and with substantial financial support from, VSB-Technical University of Ostrava, Czech Republic.

New BUP Director

Paula LindroosFollowing a decision at the CSD Uppsala to reorganize the work at the BUP secretariat, Paula Lindroos has assumed the responsibility of the programme director of the BUP. On its meeting on May 6 the BUP board expressed its gratitude for the fine work Christine Jakobsson has done as programme director in serving the BUP, and welcomed Paula Lindroos as the new programme director. Christine has been director in-charge of the BUP since 2007 and will continue in her position as BUP vice director. Paula has worked with BUP in Finland from 1991 and she has also been BUP vice director 1999-2002.

 

A BUP Exhibition at a Short film Exhibition

A BUP exhibition was arranged by the Finnish centre as a part of a side event "short film exhibition" in connection to Solutions 2011, the Nordic conference on sustainable development in the Baltic Sea Region 31.1-2.2.2011, Turku. The exhibition consisted of information about the activities in the network and presentation of study material, at the Swedish Theatre of Turku. At the same time the centre hosted also a visit from MIO-ECSDE (Mediterranean Information Office for Environment, Culture and Sustainable Development).

Sustainability, River Basin management and Climate Change in the BSR

Baltic University ProgrammeThe Baltic University Programme and the Interreg IVB project Waterpraxis organize the "Summer Course on Sustainability, River Basin Management and Climate Change in the Baltic Sea Region" to be held from 20th to 24th September 2011 at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg, Germany.
