Residential Training Workshop on Universities & ESD

MEdIESApplication time for this workshop is prolonged to April 19th.

Applying teachers are kindly asked to send an application/motivation letter (max 200 words) with a description of themselves and information on why participation in this workshop is important. The letter should be sent to the BUP secretariat in Uppsala no later than April 19th 2010. The workshop will take place 24-28 May 2010 at the Centre of Environmental Education of Amfissa, Greece.

First announcement 2010 SAIL Course

SAIL - Sustainability Applied in International Learning
Bremerhaven/Germany - St Malo/France - Lisbon/Portugal - Barcelona/Spain
28 August – 16 September 2010

The SAIL course is registered as a summer course at Uppsala University, Sweden. Students who fulfil the requirements and pass the course will receive 7.5 ECTS credit points.

The preliminary schedule for the voyage:
Bremerhaven/Germany, departure 29 August – St Malo/France, arrival 02 September
St Malo, departure 03 September – Lisboa/Portugal, arrival 09 September
Lisboa, departure 10 September – Barcelona/Spain, arrival 16 September.

Encounters of Sea and Land

The conference will examine how the sea and land have encountered each other in history and how humans have interacted with marine and land environments. The Baltic Sea and its coasts provide an excellent case to study this complex relationship.

BALTIC UNIVERSITY PROGRAMME – NETWORK VIRTUAL COURSES ON SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT – considerations and recommendations for action

This report by Turku University of Applied Sciences includes information on all the sustainable development related virtual courses that were discovered in questionnaires conducted in 2007 and 2010. Altogether 38 courses were discovered. The questionnaires showed that virtual courses already apply a multitude of learning management systems.
