Espoo ensimmäisenä Suomesta mukaan YK:n kestävän kehityksen verkostoon

RCE Espoo on hyväksytty ensimmäisenä suomalaisena toimijana YK:n maailmanlaajuisen, kestävää kehitystä edistävän verkoston jäseneksi vuoden 2011 alusta lukien.

YK:n verkosto koostuu paikallisista RCE (Regional Centre of Expertise) -verkostoista, joiden tavoitteena on toteuttaa YK:n kestävän kehityksen koulutuksen vuosikymmenen (2005 – 2014) tavoitteita ja muuntaa ne paikallisiin ja alueellisiin olosuhteisiin sopiviksi. Hakijoita vuonna 2010 oli 24, joista kahdeksan hyväksyttiin mukaan.

Energy Futures - changes in lifestyle, policy, security, technology

The Baltic University Programme will cover all expenses for the participants during their visit in Rogów in connection with the conference (accommodation, full board, bus trip Warszawa-Rogow-Warszawa, trip to Lodz included).

Travel costs will be the responsibility of the participants and their universities. Centres and teachers are kindly asked to advice and help students to find financial support for their travel costs. However there will be a possibility to apply for a travel grant from the Swedish Institute and have travel costs partially reimbursed at the conference.

Job Opnings at SRC

The Stockholm Resilience Centre has three vacancies:
 

• Planetary Boundaries Research Coordinator. This is a one-year position to start with, with possibilities for extension depending on funding.
   
• Associate Senior Lecturer in Environmental Sciences, in particular ecosystem-based management of the Baltic Sea
   
• Associate Senior Lecturer in Environmental Sciences with emphasis on modeling of social-ecological systems
