BUP Rectors' Conference 2011

Baltic University Programme 20 YearsThe 3rd BUP Rectors Conference is scheduled for the 11 - 13 October 2011 Uppsala, Sweden.

Conference keynote speakers are Prof. Hans van Ginkel, Rector of Utrecht University, Susanne Lonscher-Räcke, EU coordinator for the priority education/Ministry of Education Hamburg, Jean-Marc Venineaux, European Commission, Directorate General for Regional Policy and General Director Jan Lundin, Council of the Baltic Sea States.

A BUP Exhibition at a Short film Exhibition

A BUP exhibition was arranged by the Finnish centre as a part of a side event "short film exhibition" in connection to Solutions 2011, the Nordic conference on sustainable development in the Baltic Sea Region 31.1-2.2.2011, Turku. The exhibition consisted of information about the activities in the network and presentation of study material, at the Swedish Theatre of Turku. At the same time the centre hosted also a visit from MIO-ECSDE (Mediterranean Information Office for Environment, Culture and Sustainable Development).

Sustainability, River Basin management and Climate Change in the BSR

Baltic University ProgrammeThe Baltic University Programme and the Interreg IVB project Waterpraxis organize the "Summer Course on Sustainability, River Basin Management and Climate Change in the Baltic Sea Region" to be held from 20th to 24th September 2011 at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg, Germany.

Nordic Climate Festival @Aalto

Nordic Climate Festival @AaltoAalto University will host a 4-day event on climate change and sustainability issues, Nordic Climate Festival @Aalto, on 30.8.-2.9.2011. The Festival consists of open seminars featuring high-level Nordic experts, seven workshop tracks for Nordic students and an open Climate Fair for students, researchers and companies.

We invite all master- and PhD level students studying in Nordic universities to apply for our workshop tracks, Shortcuts to sustainable Nordic communities! The workshop tracks focus on finding novel approaches in promoting sustainable solutions to climate change mitigation and adaptation challenges in the Nordic countries. All travel and accommodation costs will be provided for the chosen participants.
