European Seminar on Sustainable Development

You are warmly invited to a Seminar in Minsk on 16-19 March 2011.
The aim of the seminar is to discuss problems connected with Sustainable Development. SD combines all main areas of human activity – economy, environment and social activity. The development of these areas is impossible without developing new technologies. Consequently, the following topics will be discussed during the seminar:
- The economics of Sustainable Development
- Environmental management and environmental economy
- Social management and Social Economy
- Technologies of Sustainable Development
- Education for Sustainable Development

Call for Applications
A report on the Nordic strategy for sustainable development entitled: Sustainable Development: New Bearings for the Nordic Countries, Revised editions with goals and priorities 2009 – 2012 (pdf-file), forms the principal cross-sector framework for the Nordic Council of Ministers’ work on sustainable development. The Nordic Council of Ministers funds projects that support the implementation of the Nordic strategy on sustainable development. The focus in 2011 will be on education for sustainable development and local co-operation on sustainable development.
The deadline for applications is 1 December 2010. See the

BUP Students' Conference on Environmental Management Systems
We would like to welcome BUP students with a direction of studies including EMS or an interest for EMS to a BUP Students' Conference on Environmental Management Systems that will take place in Ostrava, Czech Republic, on November 24–28, 2010.
The conference will be arranged by the BUP secretariat at Uppsala University in cooperation with, and with substantial financial support from, VSB-Technical University of Ostrava, Czech Republic.
