Workshop on Sustainable Development for Universities
In a joint project between the BUP and Keke-foorumi (the Finnish Forum for Sustainable Development in Higher Education) a workshop entitled "Integrating sustainability into all activities of universities" was held at Åbo Akademi University in Turku 26 - 27 October. In the workshop, led by Alan Atkisson, some 20 participants from all over Finland and 6 other countries gathered for a couple of intensive but inspirational days.
During the workshop the participants got a hands-on experience of methods used to find and identify possible ways to enhance a sustainable development at a university or in fact in many other settings. During the two days the participants learnt about the ISIS method. This flexible method is nowadays applied in a wide variety of sectors as a framework for sustainability plannning, training, and stakeholder facilitation.
