The Conference will address innovative approaches in teaching & learning as well as achievements and trends in science & technology towards sustainable development of our societies. It will encompass lectures, workshops as well as study visits organized by the partner universities within the BUP network.

The participants of the BUP teachers course Education for Sustainable Development in Higher Education (Sept 2017- March 2018) take part in this conference, and they continue with a separate programme on 25-26 October.
The EDU_Lab team at Kaunas University of Technology (LT) will introduce the system of development of modern didactic competences; the team will motivate lecturers to choose and apply suitable and innovative didactic methods for insurance of the quality of studies. The EDU_Lab team will present "different" philosophies of teaching and learning, which complies with modern trends in higher education.
The authors of the book Green European will share insights on environmental behavior and attitudes in Europe in a historical and cross-cultural comparative perspective. Research groups at Santaka Valley will present science & technology streamlines in the areas of nanomaterials and biotechnologies.
The course is free of charge (incl. accommodation and meals) for teachers from the BUP member universities. A course fee of 140 euro per person (incl. accommodation and meals) applies for all others. This BUP conference is arranged by the BUP Lithuanian Centre at Kaunas University of Technology, Lithuania and the BUP Associate Secretariat at Åbo Akademi University, Finland, in cooperation with BUP Secretariat at Uppsala University.
